Why are we different?

Here at gritbin.co.uk we are the only retailer with huge stock volumes stored on site and ready to ship the same working day. Many other winter equipment retailers drop ship their items culminating in unnecessary lead times. Orders placed between 8:30am and 3:00pm, Monday to Friday will be shipped the same working day.       

 

How much is delivery?

Our standard UK Mainland delivery charges are automatically added to your shopping cart and are dependent on the product/s you have chosen. All final delivery charges are displayed during the checkout process and clearly displayed in your total order value.

 

When will I receive my order?

All our products are supplied directly from our warehouse in Elland, Halifax, with the exception for our tonne bags of Winter salt and grit bins requested in bespoke colours such as Blue and Red.

Items ordered before 3pm and that do not require a pallet delivery (all items excluding our Winter Packs and bulk Winter salt orders) are shipped the same working day via DPD. The majority of these deliveries arrive the next working day, however this cannot be guaranteed. Once your parcel is received within the DPD network, they will then provide recipients with a one hour delivery window, notified by SMS and email, meaning you don't have to wait in all day for your items.

Our Winter Packs and bulk Winter salt orders require pallet delivery, in this case the delivery time is 3 days from placing your order. We use ADD, a reliable local delivery company, to ship your goods and you will receive a phone call to organise a delivery slot convenient for you.  

The delivery lead times mentioned in this guide exclude weekends and bank holidays.

 

My delivery address has restricted access, can you organise delivery on a suitable vehicle?

As our prices are already very competitive we are unable to arrange delivery using vehicles specifically designed for narrow access roads.

For locations where there is restricted access for standard vehicles we are able to deliver your goods to a suitable drop off point nearby, for example, the end of a farm track.

If your delivery address has restricted access please notify us prior to placing your order online or over the phone on 01422 310506. Our helpful team will be happy to discuss your requirements.

Should your delivery fail due to access issues that we were not informed of at the time the order was placed, you may be liable for any subsequent re-delivery charges.

 

Will I need to sign for the delivery? Can it be left without a signature?

Both DPD and ADD require a signature as proof of delivery. We cannot accept responsibility for items lost where proof of delivery exists.

 

What happens if the product(s) are out of stock when I place an order?

As all our stock is shipped directly from our warehouse, it is rare that any of our products would be out of stock. However, if we are unable to deliver your order within the timeframe specified in this guide, we will contact you, as soon as possible to advise of a revised delivery date or offer alternative products.

 

Do you offer a next day or express delivery service?

We do not currently offer a next day or express delivery service for orders placed online. If you require a product urgently, please call our sales team on 01422 310506 and they will be happy to assist.

 

Do you offer any discounts for bulk orders? Or any reductions on the delivery charge?

Our products are very competitively priced; therefore, we are unable to provide discounts on our product prices or when ordering multiples of the same product. However, should you order more than one product the delivery charges applied are automatically updated and discounted accordingly.

 

Delivery to any of the following areas may incur additional delivery charges:

Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Isle Of Wight, Anglesey, Isles of Scilly, Western Isles, Orkney Islands, Shetland Islands, Northern Ireland & Republic of Ireland, Scottish Highlands and Offshore Islands and also areas north of the Glasgow/Edinburgh line including the following postcode areas:

 

AB, DD, DG, EH, FK, G, HS, IV, KA27-28, KW, KY, ML, PA20-40, PA60-78, PH1-26, PH30-44, PH49-50, TD, ZE
